At WMCHealth, we care deeply about the well-being of our employees, and we believe that a healthy and balanced lifestyle is essential for both personal and professional success. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the WMCHealth Wellness Initiative that focuses on 5 main pillars of well-being.
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness month, weCARE Wellness will highlight offerings within our Mental & Emotional Well-Being Pillar. Our goal is to boost mental health by providing our workforce resources to cope with the normal stresses of life, so that we can work productively to care for our patients, while being able to balance a healthy work life.
Mental and emotional well-being is when the individual realizes their own abilities, and can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to contribute. Our Goal is to boost mental health by providing support, resources and focusing on different areas of your life, one at a time. For example, spending time performing activities like mindfulness or meditation - can help you live in the moment and let go of everyday stresses, and focus only on what’s going on now.
Aetna Resources For Living program helps you better manage your needs, or those of a loved one. It gives you access to caring consultants who help you find services and resources in your community. And it’s available at no extra cost to you.

Social Awareness
What is Social Awareness?
Part of our mission at WMCHealth is to serve our local community to bring positive change and help others, regardless of ability to pay. Each of our social awareness efforts helps to educate and connect our workforce with our surrounding communities as we continue to make a lasting impact and connection with residents of the Hudson Valley. Through our social awareness efforts, we work to understand other groups’ perspectives and positively interact with them.

Embracing Intersectionality, Leading with Inclusion
Intersectionality is the recognition that humans comprise of multiple identities and social categories that we bring to work with us every day. We benefit from drawing from the deep well of experiences that our diverse backgrounds and perspectives bring to the workplace. However, we cannot expect to realize the benefits of a diverse workforce unless every person feels welcomed and included and feels they can bring their authentic self to work.
To help us along our collective journey, we have created a calendar that highlights a selection of key diversity and inclusion concepts. These concepts are essential in your understanding to be an inclusive colleague. In addition, the calendar provides action steps and recommended resources to help you put these concepts into practice.

Give the Gift of Life
Donate Blood and Be the Hero Someone is Waiting For!
Donating blood is a selfless act with a profound impact on health, saving lives in surgeries, trauma, and cancer treatments. It plays a crucial role in emergencies, supports those with chronic conditions or blood disorders, aids cancer patients, and ensures a stable supply for surgeries. Beyond its health benefits, blood donation fosters community support, addresses the short shelf life of blood, and reflects volunteerism and civic duty, making it a tangible way for individuals to positively influence their community’s well-being.
